Closer to Launch

Whew. despite how much I might dislike creating website infrastructure, this whole process is beginning to come along. I never really imagined that somewhere on the way to becoming a successful photographer I would have to become a businessman, web developer, market researcher, and all kinds of other things. It goes with the territory, and good experience I suppose.

Anyway, construction is coming along and we now have a section for non-wedding ventures, including an art gallery here, and a gallery for concert photography here. I'm pretty happy with the results of both, they have a good spread and I think show a decent amount of diversity.

On to Bio, Contact, and Pricing pages!

Lighting Techniques

Well, the title really says it all. Lighting is probably one of the hardest things I've found to learn in photography, and its also still my weakest spot. With another wedding coming up on Oct 10th, I've been hammering away on getting a better grasp of light. So far, I'm pretty happy with the results, both using available lights and bringing my own. Here are a couple of examples That I'm definately happy with:

This second one may be tough to see on alot of lcd monitors, but I really love the detail in the highlights:

You can check out the entire portfolio here, hope you enjoy!

Updates

I realize it's been some time since I posted here, but I haven't been idle! The most recent thing I've been working on is re-editing some shots from a wedding from back in May, and here are a few of the results:

The second shot is still one of my favorite wedding shots that I've taken, it just seems to tell such a strong story. Anyway, you can check out the rest of this collection here, and look forward to more frequent updates in the weeks to come!

Nick and Luda

Eastern European weddings are always an interesting ride. There's actually a pretty significantly sized Russian and Ukrainian community in the Asheville area, and this is the third wedding I've shot within that community so far. Nick and Luda decided to hold their ceremony at a ski lodge (definitely not a traditional locale!), which made for a really interesting day and some very epic looking wedding photos! Here are a couple of my favorites from the day:

It is extremely exciting to finally be up and running, and I'm hoping to have many posts to show you! for now, I'll have to start off with a brief post on a wedding I shot June 13th, so look for that to be coming soon!
